Quick Overview - Want to bring history to life in your classroom in a really fun and unique way? This Anglo Saxon Round House workshop is perfect! It combines design technology with elements of drama, science, and maths, giving students a chance to really get creative while learning about this fascinating period of history. Your pupils will use their imagination and teamwork skills to build a large scale roundhouse they can all step into, making history feel real and exciting. This workshop is a great way to develop listening, problem solving, and fine motor skills, while learning more about topics like Invaders and Settlers, and the Anglo Saxons. Book this workshop to give your pupils a rewarding workshop that will give them all a real sense of achievement.The Architecture Workshops Association have been running fun and engaging workshops since 1996 that engage with pupils and providing catalytic support for teachers. Fitting with the national curriculum on numerous levels, not only the obvious STEM elements and History, but we help develop pupils Fine and Gross Motor Skills as well as a their independent thought and problem solving skills, thereby increasing their self esteem.

What size groups do we cater for?
2 x 45 or 3 x 30 in one day
Access for visitors with disabilities
We do work with disabled pupils
Visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
We are happy to work with SEN pupils who are part of a class, but i fthe percentage is greater than 25% we may have to adjust the total number accordingly. Likewise we can run workshops at specialist schools with smaller numbers.

Who are Architecture Workshops?
Architecture Workshops Run Hands-On Focused Practical Tasks For All Key Stages & Abilities.
In The Saxon Roundhouse we take history as a starting point and using, Design Technology, Maths Literacy, Science and Drama to differing degrees, pupils create large scale reconstructions of famous architectural landmarks that bring curriculum subjects to life. Pupils work individually, in small teams and altogether to build one large Roundhouse.
