Holt Hall Environmental & Outdoor Learning Centre School Trips
At Holt Hall, our teaching and learning is aligned to the curriculum and aims to develop pupils’ knowledge, skills and confidence. We focus on ensuring pupils have time and space to apply their learning first hand and by immersing them in engaging activities we allow room for creativity and independence.
We understand schools have different requirements so all our programmes are tailor made to suit each individual group and can include a range of topics including rivers, habitats, coasts and adaptations, maths and literacy. Programmes can also include a range of teambuilding activities such as raft building, den building and bushcraft skills.
Why are Holt Hall Environmental & Outdoor Learning Centre great for School Trips and Educational Visits?
Our teaching team have specialist knowledge of the Norfolk coast, the River Glaven and the surrounding area as well as access arrangements with local landowners.
We have a range of course options supported by recording sheets and booklets, maps, identification keys, laptops and multimedia resources as well as fully equipped laboratories containing a wide range of field and classroom support equipment.
What activities are available during group visits?
Onsite activities include: Orienteering, Survival and camp cooking, Den building, Raft building, Archery, Life under the leaves, Minibeast magic, Underwater life, plus lots more
Offsite activities include: River explorers, Coast defenders, On the rocks, Fossil finders, Glaven ports, Town studies, to mention just a few
What size groups do you cater for?
Residential: we accommodate up to 70 pupils and 8 staff. Our minimum group size is 15. Day visits: From 15 pupils upwards Campsite: up to 100 pupils and staff
Do you offer on-site classroom facilities?
We have 2 fully equipped classrooms plus break-out rooms for use.
Is there first aid on site?
Yes - all staff are first aid trained and have enhanced DBS checks.
Do you offer access for visitors with disabilities?
Yes - we have 2 bedrooms on the ground floor, plus a disabled shower and toilet on the ground floor. We have an all terrain wheelchair for use on and off site.
Do you cater for visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
Yes - we will adapt programmes to be inclusive to all.
