TYF has been running for over 30 years delivering adventure residential trips for schools. We currently work with circa 35 schools and colleges year round to help provide outdoor adventures and challenges for pupils to build some of the most important life skills they will need, such as the confidence to try new things, practice team work, learn leadership, courage and to fall in love with the coastal environment and wildlife. Our core activities are coasteering (which we pioneered in 1986), surfing, climbing and abseiling, and kayaking. The epic Mud Run, Raft Building, Bushcraft and Coastal Hike activities can all be built in to the programme. We have also partnered with local companies to offer some truly amazing experiences as optional extras. Voyages of Discovery can take pupils out to offshore Ramsey Island in sturdy twin engine RHIB's to see the best of Pembrokeshire's marine wildlife (seals, porpoise and seabirds) and a trip around St Davids City centre to see the Cathedral and enjoy local ice cream is a must. The Bug Farm Experience can also be built in as an evening session, alongside high energy games and a bonfire and is something really special. Each programme is built bespoke to your needs, and we will source accommodation locally for you, as well as organising travel arrangements. Our aim is to make it as easy as possible for you to provide a life-changing adventure residential for your pupils.
Why book TYF for Residential School Trips and Educational Visits?
Pembrokeshire is a spectacular location for adventures. One of the main reasons schools choose TYF is because we offer real adventures - all of our activities take place in the rugged natural playground of the coast. Being on a peninsular, we can always find perfect locations for beginners and improvers alike. The gently shelving sandy beaches have full blue flag status and are perfect for learning to play in the waves. Coasteering is also great for complete beginners - led by highly qualified guides, pupils will have new experiences which they will remember for the rest of their lives whilst being immersed in amongst marine wildlife and stunning seascapes.
Much of our everyday lives are now filled with technology and pressure - and we are seeing an increase in inactivity amongst young people, leading to physical and mental health problems. TYF are on a mission to revolutionise the future for young people - using adventure and the great outdoors, along with a highly qualified and passionate team of guides. We work with low ratios so that we can provide attention and support to pupils, without compromising on the experiences for pupils. Teachers see the positive results in the kids. Here is some feedback from some of our school trip leaders from this year:
Just a quick communication to ask you to pass on to Dean and the wonderful team our sincere thanks. As always Dean and the team made sure that our students, and staff come to that, were encouraged to live outside their comfort zones, just for a little while, without any of them feeling pressured into doing anything.
As you know our students all have additional learning needs and I don't know if Dean and co have had specific training but the way they handle our students is quite simply inspiring.
Once again Tom, quite simply Awesome!!
