At Craggan Outdoors we know and understand the valuable contribution that outdoor activities can make as part of a child’s education. Craggan Outdoors is licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA), and in addition hold both the Learning Outside the Classroom and Adventuremark accreditations, demonstrating our ability in and commitment to delivering the very best in outdoor education. We are knowledgeable in regard to the Curriculum for Excellence, particularly the four capacities that are it’s cornerstones, and work with each individual school to ensure that we deliver tangible results in line with their specific objectives.
Our approach is to tailor each programme to the specific requirements, educational objectives & budget of each individual group, so there's no 'off the shelf' packages, but rather exactly what you want & need to suit your group & pupils.
Over the years we have established an exceptional reputation for providing a safe, fun, challenging and inspiring environment to which schools can bring children for anything from a morning or afternoon of activities, to a full day or single overnight, through to a full week Monday-to-Friday residential. We regularly host school groups with pupils ranging from P6 & P7 age, & occassionally younger, through to secondary school groups usually within the S1 to S3 range, but again sometimes older. Visiting schools come from across the Highlands & Islands region, Aberdeen and Moray, down into Perthshire and the Central Belt, with more distant visiting schools coming from the Borders region, England, & even overseas. And if you can’t travel to us, then there are a number of activities that we potentially can bring to you!
You can be in no doubt about the very high quality of the business / provider with which you will be booking & working. As well as our AALA, Learning Outside the Classroom & Adventuremark accreditations, the general high quality of what we offer at Craggan Outdoors has been recognised with our 'Best Outdoor Activity & Learning Centre' award in the Scottish Hospitality Awards 2018, being a three-time finalist as 'Best Outdoor Venue' in the Scottish Hospitality Awards 2016, '17 & '18, 'Best Visitor Attraction' finalist in the Highlands & Islands Tourism Awards 2009, '10, '14 & '16, & winning that award in 2012. And after 10 years on TripAdvisor, we are rated 94%
