We can offer your group a variety of accommodation options from backwoods camping to fully catered indoor accommodation.
We also have a large range of onsite activities suitable for all ages and abilities.

Why are Hesley Wood great for School Trips and Educational Visits?
Hesley Wood Scout Activity Centre is set in 135 acres of woodlands and grassland which is our greatest asset. A lot of young people may only ever experience inner city urban areas so
Hesley Wood is at the opposite end of the spectrum.
We can give young people a safe place where they can explore the great outdoors but where you don't have to worry about where they might end up.
They are free to climb a tree, get muddy and have fun and adventure in a environment where they can still be safe.
We also offer a wide range of activities onsite, so you don't have to travel once you get here, everything is within walking distance. If you fancy a walk further afield The Transpennine Trail is on our doorstep for you to explore.
What activities are available during group visits?
We have a range of onsite activities, which can be found on our website. We can also tailor a programme to meet your needs, this might be for end of year reward to a programme that gives practical experience of topics covered at key stages to a complete outside the classroom learning experience.
What size groups do you cater for?
We can cater for most group sizes, our average group size we deal with is 60 to 120. We can work with groups larger or smaller than this, our Activity Coordinator will be happy to discuss your needs.
Do you offer on-site classroom facilities?
we have several buildings which we can change over to classroom set ups to meet your needs.
Is there first aid on site?
All our staff are first aid trained and we have an onsite treatment room if required.
Do you offer access for visitors with disabilities?
All of our buildings can be accessed and used by disabled users, we also have toilets and showers that can be used by disabled users who are camping.
Do you cater for visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
We work closely with several local centers providing outdoor adventure for children with special educational needs. Our Activity Coordinator will work with you to develop a plan suitable to your children needs.
