Stone Age Outdoor Workshop

The Wilderness Co

School Workshop

trip icon The Stone Age Workshops were originally conceived by one of our company directors over 10 years ago. Since then they've become a mainstay in schools, visiting the same school year after year. The workshops are incredibly effective hook into the topic and combine decades of outdoor learning experience with a passion for history, whether working with one class or two we ensure that the children are hooked for every second and come away with a smile on their face. We focus on a number of key areas that can be tailored for classes sizes and length of visit.

🔥Primitive Fire Lighting - We explore what made fire so important to our ancestors and explore how they made it.

Children take part in a number of demos with all the children taking part in some aspect.

🛠️Tools - We'll look at a number of prehistoric tools, their uses, manufacture and materials.

🏕️Shelter - Children we'll explore nomadic life through shelter building of traditional shelters (modern materials)

🦌Food - We'll explore the diet of a hunter gatherer against that of later farmer culminating in a fire cooked bread.

Prices start from £290 per day, with either one of two classes. (for two classes the day is split in half)
