Since our inception in 1986, Playbox Theatre has been at the forefront of arts education, with a thriving education department that has reached thousands of young people and educators across the UK, Asia, and the USA. Our programme offers a wide variety of bespoke workshops, school visits to productions, technical demonstrations, and enriching pre- and post-show discussions with directors and cast members. These immersive experiences are designed to support young people’s growth, confidence, knowledge, and self-esteem, and have a lasting impact on their academic and personal development.
At Playbox, we are passionate about the profound benefits that theatre and the arts bring to young people’s lives. From improving exam performance to enhancing communication skills, fostering creativity, and nurturing self-expression, we believe that the arts play a vital role in every child’s education. As author Philip Pullman says, “Stories are the most important things in the world… they can make us feel and think and be more human.” Through our tailored experiences, we work alongside schools to create unique, dynamic opportunities that are fully integrated into your educational goals.
