Greeks Workshop Click to read full text We bring the myths and legends of Ancient Greece to life through high-quality, interactive performances that make complex stories accessible, engaging, and unforgettable for students. Our productions support curriculum learning by:
* Exploring Core Myths and Legends: Students discover the story of Perseus and Medusa - one of the most enduring Greek myths - and learn how these tales helped the ancient Greeks explain the world around them.
* Introducing Gods, Heroes, and Monsters: Through vivid storytelling and character interaction, children meet key figures such as Zeus, Athena, Hermes, and the fearsome Gorgon Medusa, deepening their understanding of Greek religion and belief systems.
* Understanding Ancient Greek Culture: The show introduces concepts such as fate, destiny, heroism, and honour, alongside everyday life in Ancient Greece, helping students connect mythology to the wider historical context.
* Bringing Greek Theatre to Life: The use of the Greek chorus, masks, and storytelling conventions offers insight into how myths were performed and shared, enriching students' knowledge of classical drama and its influence on modern theatre.
* Encouraging Critical Thinking: Interactive elements and post-show discussions invite students to explore symbolism, themes, and moral lessons within the myths, fostering deeper analytical and reflective skills.
By combining live performance with curriculum-linked storytelling, Perseus & Medusa transforms Greek mythology from distant history into a living, breathing experience - sparking curiosity, inspiring imagination, and building a lasting foundation for further learning.
