Why book
'Children of the Mines Workshop - Plant y Pyllau Glo' with Gweithdy Rhyfel Byd Cymru World War Wales Workshops
Children of the mines workshop brings Welsh history to life through hands on, fun activities and talks! We start with a short talk on 'what was the Industrial Revolution', why coal is important, why children were used in the mines, and what jobs they had underground and above ground. Then, holding up the artefacts, children must guess what each one was used for by the children who worked in the mines!
Our second half includes some hands on, fun activities, these include crawling through our blackout tunnel, holding a heavy bag of coal, dressing up as Victorian workers, and seeing/holding the artefacts up close! To finish, learn more and ask as many questions as you like with our Q and A!
