Youth Climate Solutions Workshop

Epic Tales

School Workshop East of England Norfolk

trip icon The UK Government has set a target for all schools to have a Climate Action Plan by 2025, along with a Climate Council of students. There are many services out there offering to conduct a 'climate audit' for you – but what if you could conduct it yourself?

More significantly, what if YOUR STUDENTS could conduct it? As well as picking up numerous transferable key skills such as data gathering, analysis, and presentation, they'll be growing their understanding of how to tackle climate change head-on – which will leave them even more prepared for the careers of the future, whilst helping to relieve the growing spread of 'climate anxiety'.

Epic Tales has partnered with Norfolk-based social enterprise Youth Climate Solutions to provide just this: a programme designed to encourage and support your students through the process of enhancing your school's green status.

Where we travel to

We can visit your school in: East of England

What activities are available during this school workshop?

In a 90–120min workshop, your students will discover...

• the significant, positive impact a single individual can have;
• why and how to conduct a climate audit for your school;
• effective climate solutions; and
• how to reduce or even prevent climate anxiety

...whilst being supported throughout.

That support can last beyond the initial workshop, in the form of a forum to share the findings of their audit and discuss ways forward for your school.

At this stage, you may wish to consider a further programme of workshops to support your students in the establishment of a Climate Council.

Which curriculum topics do we cater for?

green tick Environmental Geography Workshop

Materials and recycling Plastic pollution Sustainable living Global warming Renewable Energy Climate change Conservation Pollution

How better to prepare for your school's statutory 2025 Climate Action Plan obligations than to train your students in managing your climate audit? Along the way, you'll also boost their transferable key skills, help reduce or prevent climate anxiety, and leave them feeling inspired to effect change.

All workshops in this programme make use of storytelling, recycled materials, and digital presentations – both to demonstrate sustainable practices and to inspire your students to consider such practices themselves.
