Storytelling Workshop

Epic Tales

School Workshop

trip icon Fun that’s Seriously Good for You

Storytelling provides a truly enthralling, immersive, unforgettable experience, making it the perfect choice for celebrations with hidden benefits for your learners – such as book weeks, post-SATs rewards, and of course World Book Day (though be prepared to book for the week of WBD at least six months in advance – it’s by far our most popular time!).

Our unique style of presentation guarantees that every learner will have a say in the story they hear, ensuring their engagement.

Moreover, we guarantee that every group will hear a different story – equipping your learners for a school-wide story sharing after our visit. Do that and you’ll more than double the fun!

And while it will of course be fun, learners will often still leave with an invigorated desire to find more stories…

“After your storytelling last week, my son came home and put on his reading glasses. That’s the first time he’s chosen to do that by himself ever!” Kate, mother of 8-year-old Luke, Cambridgeshire

Where we travel to

We can visit your school in: All UK Regions

What activities are available during this school workshop?

We recommend your storytelling author meets as many of your learners as possible in an opening assembly. Not only does this allow them to enthuse your whole school about the day ahead, it removes the need for introductions in later breakaway sessions.

With breakaway sessions of 30–55 minutes for up to 90 learners each, your author will share a folk tale from around the world, chosen with the input of every one of your learners in the group.

And remember, every group will hear a different story, enabling a school-wide story sharing after our visit.

Every afternoon or full day booking includes a complimentary after-school CPD focusing on skills and activities your educators can use to further encourage storytelling around your school, and your author will leave you with a complimentary copy of 'All the Better to Read You With: Stories & Lessons to Inspire Reading for Pleasure'.

Oracy is an important precusor to learning of ALL kinds, not just writing. Storytelling inspires your learners to engage in a way that's purposeful, understandable, relevant, and most importantly enjoyable – all while subconsciously picking up key transferable skills for school life and beyond.

Our unique style of presentation guarantees that every learner will have a say in the story they hear, ensuring their engagement before the story has even begun. By allowing them to invest in the experience in this way, they are self-motivated to soak up the presentation skills they see modelled.

Moreover, by ensuring every group will hears a different story, we provide the ideal opportunity for your learners to test out their new skills!

All our afternoon or full-day bookings come with complimentary teacher CPD as standard, equipping your staff with the knowledge and resources required to further promote storytelling and oracy around your school.

Let your learners hear the stories of Christmas from cultures around the world. As well as discovering alternatives to Santa and the origins of traditions like tinsel, they'll be inspired by global themes such as generosity, peace, and compassion.

Can be delivered as assemblies, workshops, or both. As well as containing stories from all corners of the globe, these performances also allow your learners to experience a rich variety of storytelling techniques – including puppetry, ballad, and even a smattering of illusion.

More than anything else, though, all stories are told with our finely-honed participatory style, guaranteeing that all your learners will feel involved and inspired.
