Which Curriculum Subjects do you cater for?
Physics topics: Space physics (KS3/4), Earth and space.
Inspire your pupils to learn about and develop a deeper understanding of space science and astronomy through our engaging planetarium shows catered to topics in the curriculum such as the "Tour of Our Solar System" which directly aids the Year 2 and Year 5 Earth and Space topic with fresh learning as well as consolidating previous knowledge.
What size groups do you cater for?
The maximum capacity of the planetarium is 30 students plus up to 4 teachers. The amount of classes seen per day varies with session length. The school is able to decide amount and length of shows. 40 minutes is the recommended show length to gain highest impact, however, we can offer longer, more in depth shows, or shorter, brief shows.
Do you offer access for visitors with disabilities?
The planetarium is NOT wheel chair accessible due to the entrance being zipped at the bottom. Seating is on mainly on the floor, with room for 1 or 2 chairs if needed for accessibility reasons.
Do you cater for visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
We have extensive experience working with a variety of Special Educational Needs, particularly ASD and ADHD.

Who are Bayfordbury Observatory?
Bayfordbury Observatory is a part of the University of Hertfordshire where undergraduate and postgraduate Astrophysics students are taught how to use telescopes and software at one of the largest teaching observatories in the UK. When the observatory is not being used for teaching, we welcome various public and private groups for events. We aim to make the wonders of space and astronomy accessible and engaging for people of all ages.
