Why book 'STEM Day Visit' with Ufton Court for School Trips and Educational Visits?

Our STEM Day visit will allow your children to experience immersive and practical stem activities, that will encourage in depth learning and ignite their curiosity in powerful day out. Applicable for all ages, our programmes are catered to your children's learning and provides an immersive and hands on experience.

Activities include exploring and understanding more about our heritage woodland, animal studies, fire lighting and water cycle activities, and understand and putting into action physics knowledge through construction activities.

We offer a wide range of engineering challenges, measurement activities, and mathematical explorations on top of the aforementioned activities, all designed to nurture critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Some Ufton-led activities are chargeable.

What activities are available during group visits?

Our extensive list of activities includes exploring our heritage woodlands learning about plants, animals and habitats, creating physic defying challenges that channel creativity and imagination, and putting you ultimate bushcraft skills to the test learning all about fire.

Which Curriculum Subjects do you cater for?

Curriculum topics available: Measurement, Algebra, Shape.

Our Maths activities cover a range of topics including Measurement, Geometry (shape properties, position and direction) and Algebra. Children will have the opportunity to put classroom learning to the test with hands on learning with a range of activities to choose from, all led by our experienced team,

Curriculum topics available: Living things and habitats.

Our 'Everybody Needs a Home' day combines Science and Navigation Children will meet our farm animals and local wildlife within our 60-acre private woodland. Using a map, children will investigate potential homes and investigate food chains.

We have a range activities depending on your year group. During your engineering activity day, the children will design and develop a model and communicate ideas though discussion, annotated sketches and prototypes.
Using a range of materials and components, the children will make their design, evaluate and apply their technical knowledge to strengthen, stiffen and reinforce more complex structures.

What size groups do you cater for?

From 20 to 120 Children

Is there first aid on site?

Yes, all our teachers are first aid qualified. However, all schools are expected to bring a first aid trained member of staff to administer first aid to their pupils.

Do you offer access for visitors with disabilities?

Yes, we have disabled facilities in the house, tithe barn and cabin site, including a fully equipped disabled cabin and bathroom.

Do you cater for visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

Who are Ufton Court?

Based in and around a Grade 1 Elizabethan Manor House, our school trips are set within 16 acres of historical grounds and woodland. The rich environment combined with specialist teachers enable Ufton Court to offer a unique approach to education, teaching children in new and imaginative ways which enrich their learning and their lives. At Ufton Court the emphasis is on hands on, creative and interactive learning.

Our aim is to inspire your class to develop a passion for history and the outdoors. We understand that all schools are different and so our learning style is very flexible and our teachers work hard to provide schools with individual programmes that meet their needs.

We offer day visits and residentials and can run workshops in your school.
