School and College groups have exclusive use of the site, including the lodge and adjoining cottage with its own common room and fully equipped catering kitchen. We just hand over the keys to you !!
You also have access to the outdoor fire-pits, the Pavilion (Outdoor Classroom), the yurt, and outdoor games equipment. You can manage your own activities on site, or you can select from our bespoke programme of activities. We partner with providers to run these, and can put you in touch to organise your programme. Activities can be tailored to a breadth of curriculum subjects, age ranges, ability, and other interests.
What activities are available during educational visits?
We can offer some activities through a local provider and types of activity can vary, depending upon numbers. Typically, a group of 30 could enjoy a day of activities for £200. These can be scheduled between 10am and 2pm and tailored to your planned programme.
Your day can be very structured with whole class activities or a selection that your group can dip in and out of as they choose, or a mixture of the two. The day can be jam packed with high energy activity, or offer a slower pace, and more relaxed vibe; the choice is yours. Some of the activities on offer are listed below:
• Explore and navigate the local woodland and learn about the ecology
• Focus your energy and learn to safely whittle
• Learn some new knots and make rope bridges to climb and play on
• Swing in hammocks and balance on slack lines
• Lighting campfires in small groups - Understand and managing risk
• Den Building - great for team building
• Laser Nerf Battle
• Survival challenges, great for team building and putting bodies and minds to the test.
We also offer an Archery & Photo Orienteering Session: £200 - This session is managed in smaller numbers for safety reason. It also allows for everyone to get plenty of time to enjoy the sport of archery. The group is split in half, whilst one group does archery, the other group take on the Photo-Orienteering Challenge on site. Then they swap over.
