Our Ancient Egyptian workshop is one of our newest and fastest growing workshops, we have recieved many re-bookings already due to it's success!

Our workshop leader Jo will arrive bright and early to set up a mountain of activities for your children for the day. Having taught for 15 years, Jo knows how to share her love and knowledge of Ancient Egypt as well as effectively manage a class of excitable children!

This is your day to relax - we bring all resources and activities for the day! Jo will organise a range of well thought out, age-appropriate activities to help your children explore a variety of aspects within Ancient Egyptian society.

Human Geography

Settlement and land use

A key aspect of the Ancient Egyptian society is the role of the River Nile. Children will learn how this affected people's daily life as well as settlements and choices of food/clothing/leisure activities.

Physical Geography

Rivers Map and atlas

One of the first activities in the workshop day involves creating a made to scale map of the land the Ancient Egyptians lived on. This core knowledge of the are the Egyptians chose to live will support them throughout the day in the rest of their activities.

Our workshop covers one of the most popular Ancient Civilisations - we provide many hands on replica artefacts for the children to explore and learn more about this era. Our workshop day is full of activities to help your children understand more about this fascinating society.

Archaeology

We run all workshops as experimental archaeologists, and many of our activities focus on using archaeological and enquiry skills. We provide opportunities for comparison between different historical eras to heighten the understanding of the era.
