Our full-day Key Stage 2 workshop immerses children in Greece of 490 BCE. In their minds, your school hall becomes the agora in Athens, and they are craftspeople in it. What activities are available during this school workshop?
During the morning of our Ancient Greece workshop, the children will flow freely between work stations in your school hall. Each workstation represents a different Greek craft or trade. Activities may include:
• Lamp workers
• Medicine makers
• Wax tablet makers
• Pottery painters
• Mosaic makers
• Offerings makers
• Pendant makers
• Potters
In the afternoon the children will put on child-friendly Greek plays to form the Festival of Dionysus.

Which curriculum topics do we cater for?
Ancient Civilisations Workshop
Ancient Greeks
Explore ancient Athens! Learn about the birthplace of democracy, including its beliefs, customs and culture. Children will work in the Athenian agora as the Battle of Marathon rages nearby. They will create Ancient Greek art such as pottery and frescos and will even perform their own Greek plays.
Greeks Workshop
Greek life and achievements Religion Trade Politics and Architecture Greek Gods and Mythology
Our workshop immerses children in the history and culture of Ancient Greece during the Battle of Marathon. They will learn about Greek Gods, including Athena and Dionysus. They will also be exposed to Athenian life, democracy, mythology, theatre and more.
What size groups do we cater for?
We can work with three classes (up to 90 children) at one time, provided the school hall is large enough.
