Why book 'Sedimentary Rocks and Fossils' for School Trips and Educational Visits?

Learn about the world beneath our feet, created millions of years ago. Your students will get the opportunity to handle rocks and fossils found within our very own UNESCO site, the Black Country Geo Par, and learn about the creatures and other organisms that used to roam the Earth. They will learn how they formed with interactive demonstrations and get to see them as they formed on out underground boat trip.

What activities are available during group visits?

Your class will receive an interactive workshop and a boat trip into to our underground caverns and tunnel. We can also provide worksheets to lengthen your stay and to help your students consolidate their knowledge.

Industrial School Trip

Transportation Engineering

The Black Country played a leading part in the Industrial Revolution, with its mines, quarries, factories and industry all of which are demonstrated and explored as part of your visit. Your class will get hands on experience with some of the regions biggest products and learn how they were created.

Geology School Trip

Geological Processes Fossils Rocks Mining and Quarrying

We are located within a UNESCO site, the Black Country Geo Park, home to some of the richest limestone in Europe with over 70 fossils found nowhere else in the world, Wenlock limestone and the Dudley Bug.

Local History School Trip

Learn about the local history of Dudley and surrounding areas, including how the environment aided the industrial revolution, created jobs, homes and encouraged families to move and remain in the area.

What size groups do you cater for?

We can accommodate up to 80 students.
