Why book 'Act the Curriculum'

ACT - We will immerse the children in a creative story world to explore the chosen topic. During the workshop every child will be involved in acting out the story and sharing ideas. Not only will they be learning about the topic but they will be able to creatively express themselves, work together and play.

DRAW - Each workshop finishes with the children mapping out/ drawing/ writing what they have learnt on our big paper, the perfect piece of topic art for the school or classroom wall. The children's words and art can also be turned into an actual book that is printed for all to enjoy!

We believe children learn best through story and play. Just add the curriculum topic and watch their minds ignite.

Which Curriculum Subjects do you cater for?

Explorers

During this workshop, the children will be signed up as explorers for the day and be immersed in our story worlds. Through our unique storytelling techniques the children will be fully involved in acting out the story as they travel back in time, forward in time, exploring people, countries and cultures. Once the children have experienced this, they will sit down on our giant paper and map out their experience. This is a great piece of art for the classroom wall or we can turn their adventure into an actual book for all to enjoy!

Romans topics: The Roman Army, Romanisation and ways of life.

Go back in time through our exciting storytelling techniques and visit the Roman period as well as many other historical periods. We will immerse the children in a time travelling story world exploring a variety of historical people and places. Once acted, the children will draw and write their adventure on our giant paper which we can turn into a printed book for all to enjoy!

Physical Geography topics: Weather, Environment, Mountains, Rainforest, Map and atlas, Earthquakes, Volcanoes, Natural Disasters.

Through our exciting unique storytelling we can immerse the children in an adventure story exploring our world. The children will go on an adventure through different countries, battling different extreme weather whilst taking on volcanoes and earthquakes. Full of playful action and facts.

Performing Arts

All of our projects have drama and play at the heart of them. During this workshop children will have a chance to take part in a variety of drama games, role play activities and come together as a group of actors to perform their story.

The children will creatively express themselves whilst building confidence and communication skills. Our aim is to turn classrooms into safe spaces where everyone can play, explore and create together.

EY & KS1 & KS2
1 hour workshop per class

We can also work with your whole school:
1 form entry = 7 Classes (1 hour per class - delivered over 2 days)
2 form entry = 14 Classes (1 hour with 2 classes together - delivered over 2 days)
