Where we travel to

We can visit your school in:

What activities are available during this school workshop?

We combine lively astronomy presentations, delivered by our team of enthusiastic and knowledgeable science storytellers, with the most extensive collection of 360° films across the globe, featuring over 250 extraordinary titles.

Which curriculum topics do we cater for?

green tick Physics Workshop

Light Earth and space Seasonal change Rollercoasters Space physics (KS3/4) Weather Planetarium

Click to read full text Engaging presenters and 360° projection technology bring the thrill of Space and wonder of the night sky to your school. Students & teachers are left with vivid and lasting memories to motivate classroom learning.

This high-definition planetarium experience includes learning about the planets of the Solar System, both the rocky and gas giants, and how they are held by the Sun's gravity. Pupils vividly witness that the Sun, Earth and Moon are approximately spherical - and the way these objects move relative to the Sun. They also observe how the Moon, rockets and satellites move relative to the Earth; and see for themselves how we experience day and night. The 360° planetarium can also dynamically describe the phases of the Moon, the reason for the seasons, and take children on a hyper-realistic rollercoaster ride to experience inertia, gravity and centripetal acceleration first hand!

We recommend leaving sufficient time for questions, to allow students to direct their own lines of enquiry. From exploding stars, colliding galaxies, supermassive black holes, and to what exists beyond the edge of the Universe - all questions are answered with unforgettable high-quality 4K visualisations on the dome.

The topic of Weather can be covered with a three-part immersive film:
⦿ using our senses to observe the weather and identify cloud types (6.5min)
⦿ describing and measuring the weather (5min)
⦿ identifying the basic features of the Water Cycle (3.5min)

What size groups do we cater for?

Our largest dome can accommodate up to 70 primary school students (+ 4 adults); or up to 45 secondary school students (+ 4 adults). You have the choice of booking a 4m, 5m, 6m or 7m digital dome, for either half a day, full day or split across lunch; and we will happily squeeze in as many performances as you wish in the time allocated. We also cover a variety of other subjects, including geography, history (WWI & WWII), the climate emergency, dinosaurs and evolution (see our other adverts on this site).

Access for visitors with disabilities

Yes we do. Not only are our domes easy to enter / exit through a standard doorway, but they are also wheelchair accessible. We also have a book of tactile illustrations that can be used by visually impaired students to follow the presentation.

Visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

We offer a rich selection of sensory immersive music and art experiences, and our science presenter-led performances are flexible and adaptable for all educational needs, with stunning 360-degree visuals. We also have a tactile astronomy and Space book for the visually impaired.

Anything else?

⦿ We are proud to have more genuine, up-to-the-minute teacher feedback than any other planetarium operator in the UK - both online and on our website (see link under the final header at the bottom).
⦿ If the dome remains up over lunch, your booking includes a free Staff Relaxation Session of 360° music and art.
