A range of watersports are available: canoeing, raft building, paddle boarding, gorge scrambling.
All our watersports activities take place on either Coniston Water or Wastwater and surrounding areas.
Romans School Trip
Roman Buildings The Roman Conquest and Hadrians Wall
For groups staying at YHA Eskdale, we can offer our 'Roman's Day' which features a guided walk to Harknott Roman Fort, led by our 'Romans' expert. Walk in the footsteps of the Romans from their mountain fortress at Hardknott to the Roman port of Ravenglass. Look at how the Romans influenced the area and their legacy.

On-site classroom facilities?
As our groups have sole use of our hostels, all the hostel facilities are at the disposal of our groups. This includes the dining room/lounge areas which can be used for activities.
Is there first aid on site?
Yes - hostel staff and our outdoor activity instructors are all first aid trained.
Access for visitors with disabilities

Anything else?
Groups booking visits during the autumn and spring terms are eligible to apply for bursary funding to help towards the cost of the trip.
