trip icon Located in the Cairngorms National Park, Lagganlia Outdoor Centre put visitors into the heart of the landscape, allowing them to make the most of the natural environment through our range of adventure education activities and outdoor learning experiences.

We are focused on delivering the outdoor learning skills and activities which are not only useful during the years of formal education, but will help influence lives and careers for many years to come. We offer a wide range of residential learning experiences which form part of The Curriculum for Excellence, The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, JASS and a wide range of other outdoor educational learning courses.

What activities are available during educational visits in 2026?

Lagganlia Outdoor Centre offers a range of activities including:

archery, climbing, abseiling, gorge, mountain biking and a range of winter sports and water sports

Climbing Canoeing Orienteering Archery Sailing Kayaking

Lagganlia benefits from being set amongst a rugged landscape - ideal for skiing, gorge-walking and kayaking.

We have on-site activities including archery, high-ropes, dry ski slope and a climbing wall.

Sailing Kayaking Canoeing

At Lagganlia we are ideally located to make use of local lochs and rivers to provide a variety of different water sports , including kayaking, sailing, rafting and duckies.


What size groups do we cater for?

up to 120, organised into groups of 8 - 10.

On-site classroom facilities?

we have classroom areas and teaching areas throughout the main centre and in the lodges, teaching areas are equipped with clever touch interactive screens.

Is there first aid on site?

All our instructors are Advanced Outdoor First Aid trained, and all other Centre staff are also trained first aiders.

Access for visitors with disabilities

Our instructors are experienced in working with children with various support needs and are able to partner with schools to make our activities accessible to those of all abilities.

Visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

We are experienced in working with children with a range of Special Educational Needs, and supporting them through our programme of activities. Please get in touch to discuss any specific issues or general questions.


Who are Lagganlia Outdoor Education Centre?

At Lagganlia Outdoor Centre we want to encourage all communities and age groups to discover outdoor environments and activities. We engage individuals, educational bodies and organisations in recreational, adventure, social and personal development through awards and achievement programmes. As a member of the Institute for Outdoor Learning, we share their values and ethical practice.

We have special rates for schools in quieter months

From £315pp for 4 days or £415pp for a 5 day residential

Last minute availability w/c 2nd March 2026 at Lagganlia centre for 20 - 70 pupils.
All meals, accommodation, day and evening activities and transport while you are here is provided, we can even pick you up at a local station.
Lagganlia normally books 2 - 3 years in advance but due to a cancellation we one space to fill. Please get in touch with any enquiries.
