Pre and post visit lesson plans are provided (head to our website to download now) covering English topics, including creative and descriptive writing.
Our school programme is perfect for educating pupils in a fun and engaging way. On top of being extremely enjoyable for the pupils, the attraction creates the ideal learning environment for practicing writing skills whilst also extending the pupils' vocabulary. The programme has been designed to support several core elements of the National Curriculum.
Included in the trip is a visit to the famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom if it is open on the day.
The Ballroom offers a historical experience, providing opportunities to learn all about the history of the Ballroom alongside local and national history.

What activities are available during group visits?
A visit to The Blackpool Tower Circus is accompanied by lesson plans for teachers to use in the classroom before and after their visit. These outline the subjects and topics covered at the attraction and curriculum objectives. As well as suggesting pre-visit topics of discussion, the lesson plans also provide different learning activities that engage pupils with each attraction.
The Blackpool Tower Circus and Ballroom also have their own downloadable worksheets which use a variety of techniques to engage the learning of the pupils. These include writing and research activities.
Which Curriculum Subjects do you cater for?
English topics: Vocabulary grammar and punctuation, Creative writing.
As part of The Blackpool Tower Circus worksheet, pupils are encouraged to extend their vocabulary to explore the senses they used during the Circus show. The learning materials also include creative and descriptive writing tasks, including asking pupils to write a diary entry from the perspective of Mooky the clown. The post-visit tasks also include creating a storyboard showing the development of the Circus from
its opening in 1894 to the present day, incorporating historical elements.
What size groups do you cater for?
Enquiries can be made for any group size, and groups of 100+ can visit, but we recommend touring the attraction in groups of no more than 10 + a teacher in order for each child to fully experience and learn from each exhibit.
Do you offer on-site classroom facilities?
The Blackpool Tower Circus does not have classroom facilities available onsite.
Is there first aid on site?
We have fully trained first aiders on site at all times.
