Historic Workshops School Workshop
Risk Assessments
Sessions include:
Mummification - the children get to witness how the mummification process took place with the workshop leader demonstrating this using a mannequin and fake organs!
Egyptian Scribe - writing on real papyrus paper from Egypt, using reed pens and ink, the children will write a sentence in hieroglyphs!
Egyptian Board Games - using hand-made wooden boards and natural playing pieces, the children get to play two of the oldest games in the world...senet and mancala.
Egyptian City-builder - playing the role of the town council, the children get to decide how to spend their allocated budget on buildings to create the greatest Egyptian city! This is a Powerpoint-based game which the children absolutely rave about (and teachers too!)
Egyptian Artefact Investigation - getting to handle more artefacts than what any other provider can offer, the children get a truly special experience. Unlike other providers....we encourage the children to pick up and touch all of the artefacts. Having artefacts in their hands is the best way for them to learn and embed the learning!
Historic Workshops travel to schools nationwide, to provide highly-engaging, hands-on learning that is second to none. We pride ourselves in providing a professional service that aims to deliver each workshop to as many children as possible (unlike some other workshop providers, we also provide teacher-led sessions for the children to continue their hands-on learning whilst we are delivering a session).
Most schools we visit re-book us for the following year, or for other workshops that we provide. Since our beginning in 2016, we have seen a huge rise in popularity year on year, which is a true testament to the quality and value of the workshops. In Autumn and Spring 2017-18 and Autumn 2018-19, we were fully-booked 5 days a week! It is essential that you book as early as possible to avoid missing out!
