Geography lessons with Minecraft Workshop

TA Education

School Workshop

trip icon Minecraft is an incredibly adaptable world that we cater for a wide variety of enrichments.

With the Creative Writing workshop, we can adapt this to the needs of your class, either by adapting the theme or changing the focus of the method of the session.

All workshops booked will have a prep-call with one of our delivery staff to ensure the workshop fits the needs of your school. This is a requirement for the booking to go ahead.

The work will last 2 hours and can be repeated twice in 1 day with a class of 30(approx.) students.

We can bring in our own devices or use your IT suite if requested.

Rainforest Environment

Minecraft serves as an innovative tool for teaching Physical Geography, offering students an immersive way to explore and understand the Earth’s physical features. Through the game’s sandbox environment, students can create and analyze landscapes, such as mountains, rivers, and valleys, and observe how natural processes like erosion, weathering, and plate tectonics shape these features. The interactive nature of Minecraft allows students to simulate environmental changes and their impacts, fostering a hands-on learning experience. This approach not only makes complex geographical concepts more accessible but also encourages critical thinking and collaboration among students as they work together on geographical projects.

Rainforest Renewable Energy Climate change

Join us for an exciting Minecraft workshop where we delve into the fascinating world of Environmental Geography! Participants will embark on a virtual adventure, exploring diverse ecosystems, understanding the impact of human activities on the environment, and learning about sustainable practices. Through interactive challenges and creative building tasks, you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for our planet and discover ways to protect it. Whether you’re a seasoned Minecraft player or new to the game, this workshop offers a fun and educational experience for all ages. Let’s build a better world together, one block at a time!

green tick Geology Workshop

Mining and Quarrying Rocks

Minecraft offers a dynamic and interactive platform for teaching Geology. By simulating real-world geological processes and formations, students can explore concepts such as rock cycles, mineral identification, and tectonic movements in an engaging, hands-on environment. The game’s block-based world allows students to visualize and construct geological features like mountains, caves, and volcanoes, fostering a deeper understanding of Earth’s structure. Additionally, Minecraft’s collaborative nature encourages teamwork and problem-solving as students work together on geological projects. This immersive approach not only makes learning fun but also helps students retain complex geological concepts more effectively.

What size groups do we cater for?

The workshop can cater to up to 35 students per workshop.

Anything else?

We would require a class with access to power and a front-of-class display.
