'Celtic Wales Workshop - Gweithdy Cymru Celtaidd' with Gweithdy Rhyfel Byd Cymru World War Wales Workshops
Celtic Wales workshop brings Celtic history to life through hands on, fun activities and talks! We start with a talk on themes such as how the Celts lived, Roundhouses, Druids, Celtic warriors, and more, all whilst showing and passing around items from the era!
Our second half includes dressing up in Celtic clothing and armour, trying on helmets, holding shields and swords, as well as getting to look and hold even more artefacts. We also have 2 activities, which is getting your face painted like a Celtic warrior, and trying a Millstone to create flour. To finish, learn more and ask as many questions as you like with our Q and A!

Which Curriculum Subjects do you cater for?
Gweithdy Cymru Celtaidd/ Celtic Wales Workshop teaches children about the life of a Celt, including that of a fierce Celtic warrior! This workshop focuses on seeing and touching items that Celts would have used in their every day lives!
We start with an educational discussion, whilst passing and showing Celtic artefacts, children will also get the chance to try on Celtic jewelry! Our second half includes dressing like a Celt, getting your face painted like a Celtic Warrior, using a Millstone to make flour, and trying on Celtic armour and helmets! We finish off with a Q and A to learn a bit more on Celtic life!
Local history on Celts throughout Wales, from how they lived in Wales, their everyday lives from how they hunted, to what they wore, where they originated, to how they are and why they are an important part of Welsh, Irish, and Scottish culture.
What size groups do you cater for?
One classroom of up to 35 children, for a 1.5 hour sessions. We also offer longer sessions and all day sessions if required.
Do you offer access for visitors with disabilities?

Do you cater for visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

Our workshops are 1.5 hour sessions for 1 class (up to 35 children), we also offer other sessions if needed, please ask if you'd prefer longer sessions or sessions throughout the day.

Who are Gweithdy Rhyfel Byd Cymru World War Wales Workshops?
Gweithdy Rhyfel Byd Cymru is a workshop company owned by Melanie Jones, that caters to children of key stage 1, 2 and 3, as well as home education, youth clubs, and care homes across Wales. We offer 9 different themed workshops which are: WWII, Victorians, Celts, Romans, Children of the Mines, Medieval, Ancient Egypt, Pirates and Toys through time. Each workshop focuses on bringing history to life through hands on activities, holding and trying artefacts from the eras, dress up, and interesting discussions with pictures, clips and videos.
