All activities redesigned to minimise contact while maximising engagement and excitement. Extra cleaning introduced and we have invested in extra kit to allow for quarantining any equipment that cannot be sanitised. All bookings are flexible and there are no fees for changes or cancellation.
Fab Science was founded by Emma Ranade; a qualified science teacher, self-confessed geek and highly energetic science communicator.
We offer in-school workshops on a whole range of topics and we have adapted many of these to work online. Choose from Zoom or pre-recorded...or even a combination of both. Many schools have opted for a pre-recorded workshop with live introductions or Q&A sessions for each class.
Our most popular online sessions are the Super Science Show (all of our 'best bits' in one exciting interactive workshop) and Professor Fab's potions class. This is the science of magic and can be presented by a scientist in the virtual Fab Science lab or by Professor Fab in the potions lab...great for sparking literacy ideas as well as science.
Fab Science workshops are really popular in our local area and now we can virtually visit anywhere! We've invested in quality cameras, lighting and backdrops to make an online workshop be just as exciting as a visit to school. The emphasis is still on practical science and we provide lots of ideas for experiments and activities to try at home or in school.
Curriculum topics available: Forces and magnets, Electricity and circuits, Forces.
Both the Super Science Show and Professor Fab's potions class include physics tricks around the Bernoulli effect and air pressure. We also offer specific sessions on forces and electricity.
Curriculum topics available: States of Matter, Properties and changes of materials, Chemical Reactions.
Both the Super Science Show and Professor Fab's potions class include colour-changing potions, fizzy explosion and dry ice. We also offer curriculum based workshops on states of matter and materials.
Curriculum topics available: Animals including humans, Evolution and inheritance, Digestive System, Circulatory system .
Take a gooey trip through the digestive system or find out about the heart or DNA in our virtual biology workshops.
Interactive workshops are usually for one or two classes at time but get in touch to discuss what would work best in your school.
We can provide links for a Zoom call that your teachers can access. The call is not recorded and only pre-agreed staff will have access. If you would prefer to use your own Zoom/Teams/Meet account, just send us the link.
We usually use Zoom but are happy to use any other platform that suits the school. If the school internet connection is unstable, you may prefer to have pre-recorded sessions that can be accessed any time during the week. These can be accompanied by live introductions or Q&A sessions via Zoom. Most sessions are around 30 minutes.

"Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for yesterday. I've had so many positive comments about your workshops from children across the school and emails from parents. You were a massive hit and you've definitely set the standard high for the rest of our enrichment fortnight.
