Our program is designed to develop the knowledge, skills, and understanding that pupils require to become active and responsible citizens in society. Through engaging team-building activities, we emphasise the importance of teamwork, effective planning, and execution strategies, as well as the various roles within a team. Our curriculum-linked approach ensures that students not only enhance their citizenship skills but also reinforce key concepts across relevant subject areas.
We provide a diverse range of adventurous activities, from thrilling watersports to exhilarating climbing, land-based adventures, and scenic hiking. Our programs offer pupils the opportunity to participate in these exciting activities as part of a multi activity day. Seamlessly integrating with curriculum content or environmental education initiatives. Whether it's conquering waves, scaling heights, exploring nature, or embracing the great outdoors, Peak delivers unforgettable experiences that promote physical fitness, personal development, and outdoor exploration.
Our activities are carefully crafted to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attributes necessary for their future endeavours. By engaging in challenges within a safe and structured outdoor environment, students learn to overcome obstacles, fostering resilience and self-esteem. Outdoor settings offer invaluable opportunities for enhancing mental health and emotional well-being, providing the ideal space to teach students how to manage their own well-being through connection with the natural world.
Learn essential skills such as crafting shelters from natural materials like wood and sticks, purifying water, foraging for edible food such as berries, crafting tools, and collecting wood from the surrounding area. Delve into the art of building fires for cooking and acquire basic survival techniques. Enhance your experience with added navigational skills to locate natural materials in the surrounding environment.
The purpose of this session is to foster teamwork while constructing shelters and to develop valuable survival skills. By pushing participants out of their comfort zones and encouraging them to utilise only what nature provides, this activity encourages personal growth and self-sufficiency.
We offer a diverse range of activities tailored to your school group's interests and skill levels:
Kayaking: Experience the thrill of navigating the waters in our versatile kayaks. Whether you prefer the stability of a sit-on-top kayak or the agility of a closed cockpit kayak, each participant is equipped with a buoyancy aid for safety. Our sessions begin with land safety instructions, covering paddle usage and fitting buoyancy aids, before venturing onto the water. Beginners learn basic vessel control, culminating in a friendly mini race or game, while intermediate groups delve into advanced techniques, water confidence, rescue skills, and safety leadership.
Canoeing: Explore the waterways in traditional canoes, perfect for teamwork and adventure. Our skilled instructors guide participants through the basics of paddling, safety procedures, and effective communication, ensuring a memorable and safe experience on the water.
Paddleboarding: Stand tall on paddleboards as you glide across the water's surface, propelled by your own strength. Our paddleboarding sessions offer a unique blend of balance, coordination, and outdoor fun, suitable for all ages and skill levels.
Sailing: Harness the power of the wind and embark on a sailing adventure with our experienced instructors. Learn the art of navigation, sail handling, and teamwork as you maneuver through the waves, experiencing the thrill of sailing firsthand.
Raft Building: Team up with your classmates to construct sturdy rafts capable of navigating the waterways. Learn essential knot-tying techniques, communication skills, and problem-solving strategies as you work together to design and build your raft. Test the success of your creation as you embark on a voyage across the water, putting your teamwork and engineering skills to the ultimate test.
From adrenaline-pumping races to serene explorations of nature, our water sports activities offer something for everyone.
We believe that all students, regardless of their abilities or challenges, deserve the opportunity to participate fully. That's why we meticulously plan and adapt our activities to ensure that every student is included and can thrive in our programs. Our instructors undergo specialised training and boast extensive experience in working with students with special educational needs. Moreover, we are committed to providing development programs specifically tailored for SEND students, focusing on alternative provision education to foster emotional, social, and personal growth.
We specialise in team building workshops designed to enhance essential skills for effective collaboration. Our programs emphasise the development of listening and communication skills, while fostering respect for others, honing decision-making abilities, and strengthening interpersonal relationships. Through a series of tailored team-building challenges and engaging activities, we provide hands-on experiences that promote teamwork and cohesion.
All of our instructors are experienced with SEN students and we welcome all students for our school trips and residentials. If you require something to be in place more long term we also have our Social Development programme for both mainstream and SEN students who struggle to engage full time in a mainstream education setting to refocus and develop in the great outdoors.
