Cumulus Outdoors Activity Camps at your School Workshop

School Workshop South West Dorset

trip icon When we come to you, we reduce your input into the whole school residential package:

We do the travelling so reducing part of your planning remit and also your costs.

We alleviate some parental concerns as the students are not leaving the vicinity of the school and they have both your staff and our instructors looking after their children.

We utilise your local environment in a way that perhaps the school or parents had not previously considered.

We bring added value with a small but highly specialised, qualified and motivated instructor team, keen to bring outdoor adventure to a new audience and immerse them in the natural environment with new activities and skill sets.

We offer two packages which can be tailored to fit your desired learning outcomes:

1. Depending on your preference, we can focus the day on teambuilding where we teach the students the importance of working together as a team, supporting each other in a positive and inclusive environment. Alternatively, the day can consist of a full programme of fun games and activities

2. Bringing our tented village to you! By using your own secluded and exclusive grounds at the school, we will bring a fully kitted camp kitchen, canvas tents, communal evening area and activity equipment.

Activities can include, but are not limited to:

The fundamentals of pitching a good camp, Bushcraft, Fun filled camp games, Camp Fire Cooking, Air Rifles, Tag Archery, Hennessy Hammocks Overnight Option (subject to access to trees!), Team Challenge Competition, Site Olympics, Orienteering

Other external activities subject to the area (mountain biking, kayaking, climbing etc)

Which curriculum topics do we cater for?

Orienteering Archery

We use team challenges, our ethos of 'challenge by choice' and leadership skills in all of our physical activities. The activities can be physically challenging but all students are supported and encouraged to achieve more than their original targets.
Activities can include: Fun filled camp games, Air Rifles, Tag Archery, Team Challenge Competition, Site Olympics, Orienteering
Other external activities subject to the area (mountain biking, kayaking, climbing etc)

Bushcraft Workshop

Our exciting Bushcraft sessions and challenges are geared to help you get back to basics whilst also enjoying the natural environment. Using your own school grounds, we teach the fundamentals of pitching a good camp, basic skills of firelighting, shelter building and campfire cooking, Hennessy Hammocks are an overnight option which is a great experience for your pupils. All of our sessions are fun and at the same time educational. Would you survive in the woods?

What size groups do we cater for?

We can accommodate up to 40 students at any one time. But please contact us if your requirement is for more students - we can flex to fit!

Access for visitors with disabilities

We ask you to please contact us to discuss any disabled facilities required for your trip.

Visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

We do have the capacity to cater for these children, please contact us for further details.

Anything else?

We have recently successfully completed a two week long on site residential experience for a school in Cirencester covering years 3,4,6,7 and 8 with various overnights stays, adventure activities and off-site visits.
"Prep 4 have had the most fun couple of days of adventure! They are so fortunate to be able to continue their normal working programme in a safe and enjoyable way, making the most of the wonderful school grounds."
