Why book Lulworth Outdoors for School Trips and Educational Visits?

trip icon

Our venue is second to none for adventure activities. The Lulworth Estate is part of the UNESCO World Heritage; Jurassic Coast, and owns some of the most recognisable landforms of the British coastline such as Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove.

Schools participating in adventure activities receive exclusive use of the site. We are the only commercial company permitted to kayak and coasteer along the Lulworth coastline.

Furthermore, we have a campsite further inland for those wishing to spend more time in Lulworth and get a more holistic adventure experience.

We have also won awards for 'Learning Experience of the Year' at a Dorset and South West level for the past two years.

Which Curriculum Subjects do you cater for?

Our watersport activities comprise of our very popular geo-coasteering and geo-kayaking options. Both are three hours in duration and provide unforgettable, inspiring and enriching experiences by getting up close to the coast. Minimum ages and maximum numbers apply.

Geo-coasteering (3 hours, varied distance)
Geo-kayaking (3 hours, varied distance)
Archery (1.5 hours)
Bushcraft (approx 2 hours)
Orienteering (approx 2 hours)
Camping - hire the site, hire tents, self accommodating (weekdays only)

Tell us what you want! We pride ourselves on our flexible approach.

What size groups do you cater for?

trip icon

For adventure activities we have a rigorous ratio system depending on what activity you wish to select, thus it is best to contact us directly to build a programme for you. However, generally speaking, coasteering has a maximum of 18 per session and kayaking 16 per session.

Do you offer on-site classroom facilities?

trip icon

At Lulworth Cove we have a classroom that can seat 50 people. Groups can hire this (if not already in use) and schools can also hire this in case of inclement weather. Schools already booked on a session with us can avail of this free of charge.

Is there first aid on site?

trip icon

All staff are first aid trained and carry first aid kits. The Visitor Centre reception has a more robust first aid kit and there is both a first respondse team and coastguard station based in the village.

Do you offer access for visitors with disabilities?

trip icon

The site has disabled toilets and access ramps to most areas. However, due to the uneven paths and natural undulating terrain not all areas and viewpoints are accessible to those with mobility issues. We are also in possession of an off-road mobility 'tramper' to help access some sections of the coastal path (conditions apply).

Do you cater for visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

trip icon

Yes. Every effort is made to accommodate SEND students. Teachers can contact the team ahead of time to make arrangements for students with complex needs.

Anything else?

trip icon

You can blend you adventure activities with residential camping and/or field studies by combining a session with our team in the Lulworth Education Service.
