green tick Accommodation Only School Trip

Click to read full text We have accommodation only options that can support your residential experience.
You can stay in one or both of our buildings (Shackleton Lodge / Kipling Lodge)

Shackleton Lodge:
Shackleton Lodge is the larger of our two main accommodation buildings (it can also be booked for day events etc).
For normal residential use it can support a maximum group of 24 young people on the floor in the main hall, there are four side-rooms, one contains 3 bunk beds (sleeping 6), one has 2 single beds (sleeping 2) and the other 2 have a bunk-bed each (sleeping 2 in each room).
For residential stays wholly within the building the maximum party size is therefore 36, this will not be exceeded under any circumstances due to fire safety regulations, but additional numbers camping outside on the glade area are NOT counted within this total, the building with camping on the glade can support groups of 100+
At the rear of the building is a glade camping area, this is an open area that can accommodate a number of tents, when used together with the building this creates a very flexible residential arrangement, with the combination of the building and camping area.
The building is equipped with tables and chairs, and is heated by wall mounted infrared and electric fan heaters, with underfloor heating in the toilet and wetroom (no extra charge).
The kitchen is equipped with a fully certificated commercial electric cooker, with a full extraction system.
A full range of cooking equipment is provided, such as pots, pans, plates, mugs and utensils, sufficient to support 50 people, extra can be supplied upon request for larger events.
The kitchen is also equipped with a large fridge, large freezer and microwave.
Free Wifi is available within and around all of the buildings at Bushy Wood

Kipling Lodge:
Kipling Lodge is the smaller of our two main accommodation buildings (it can also be booked for day events etc).
For normal residential use it can support a maximum group of 14 young people on the floor in the main hall, aside from which there are three side-rooms, two contain 2 single beds (sleeping 2 in each bedroom), one contains a single bed (sleeping 1), this side-room has a sink with hot water, and is wheelchair accessible.
At the rear of the building is Kipling Glade, this is a large area that can accommodate a large number of tents, when used together with the building this creates a very flexible residential arrangement, with the combination of the building and camping area.
For residential stays the maximum sleeping capacity in the building is 20, this will not be exceeded under any circumstances due to fire safety regulations, however anyone camping outside on the glade area is not counted in this total, the building can support much higher numbers if the camping glade is used as well.
The building is equipped with tables and chairs, and is heated by wall mounted electric infrared and fan heaters, with underfloor heating in the toilet and wet room (no extra charge).
The kitchen is equipped with a fully certificated electric gas cooker, with a full extraction system.
A full range of cooking equipment is provided, such as pots, pans, plates, mugs and utensils, sufficient to support 50 people, extra can be supplied upon request for larger events.
The kitchen is also equipped with a fridge, freezer and microwave.
Free Wifi is available within and around all of the buildings at Bushy Wood.
