Powerful Plants Workshop

Your pupils will work with the practitioner for a full school day, helping the aliens learn all about plants, there different types and the varied uses they have. They'll play parts of the plant to help them remember difficult words and names and some will even be the bees who come to pollinate!All of our Science Learn and Present days allow children to develop a greater understanding of the world around them. We use scientific terms to help children develop their vocabulary and introduce key concepts of scientific enquiry. The Powerful Plants has been specifically developed to link into the 'Plants' element of the National Curriculum at Key Stage 1.

Performing Arts Workshop
All of our workshops are designed to support children's learning in Drama and Performing Arts.
Through carefully planned activities and exercises, children expressively use their face, body and to develop their confidence, creativity and imagination, all the while learning new theatrical techniques and vocabulary.

Key learning in the Powerful Plants Play in a Day. Children will learn about:
- The key parts of a plant.
- Different types plants including flowers and plants that can be eaten.
- The environment and conditions plants need to survive and thrive.
- The lifecycle of a plant.
- The importance of plants for planet Earth.

Who are Altru?
Altru Drama is a creative education company, established in 2005. We use drama as a tool to increase topic understanding, build confidence, explore issues and develop personal and social skills.
We aim to inspire, create and educate - working with and for young people to help them learn, develop and grow. And we absolutely love what we do!
