Altru
We think drama is a fantastic way to learn about a topic as it allows the children to empathise with stories and characters.

Format one: LEARN AND PRESENT
One class of children work together all day, learning all about Roald Dahl and creating a performance to be proud of. The performance, which is performed by your pupils, begins with a class of children and a strange little girl surrounded by books – her name, of course, is Matilda.
Matilda takes the class on a journey through Roald Dahl’s life; his schooling, his time as a pilot, his dream for travel, his family and his ultimate desire to create incredible books that spoke to children.
Along the way children meet (and play) characters from his stories, including a terrifying encounter with the Witches (this can be removed if your school prefers), a stumble through Aunt Spiker and Sponge’s garden, a trip to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory and a meeting with the horrible Mr and Mrs Twit – all of whom are played by your pupils!
The Roald Dahl Learn and Present Day will inspire your children to read more of Dahl’s books and to explore what makes his writing so interesting and special.
Please note – there are 2 versions of this Learn and Present Day; the full upper KS2 version and a more simplified version for lower KS2.
Format Two: EXPLORE
The Explore Day option is perfect for those schools who are more than one form entry, or for schools who want to cover a lot of classes in 1 day. We offer up to 6 workshops across the day, and these can be themed to specific Dahl books – so you might have a Matilda workshop for Year 6 and a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory workshop for Year 5, a Twits workshop for Year 4 and a Fantastic Mr Fox session for Year 3. The choice is yours and we plan the sessions to meet your needs and the learning you’d like your class to achieve.
Performing Arts WorkshopAll of our activities are designed to support children's learning in Drama and Performing Arts.
Through carefully planned activities and exercises, children use their bodies and voices expressively, develop their imaginations and learn new theatrical vocabulary.
All workshops are designed and delivered in a completely inclusive way so that all children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities can access our work.
