Bigfoot has been a leading light in the world of arts education since 2000. This means that we are fully committed to providing schools with the VERY best creative experiences for their children and staff that money can buy!

We fully understand how high quality drama, music, dance and art interactions can enrich the curriculum and help bring learning to life through imaginative play and exploration. Therefore, each programme we offer is the perfect blend of fun, energy, interaction, reflection, and education.

Plus our staff, who we call ‘Bigfooters’ are highly qualified and skilled theatre practitioners who we have personally selected, trained and invested. Each Bigfooter has a DBS that we check every year and PLI up to the value of £5 million. All our facilitators are also trained in child protection & safeguarding children, health and safety, and equality & diversity policies and procedures.
We are proud to say that all performances and workshops have been thoroughly researched, tried and tested so that you can feel confident your students will have a truly wonderful experience with our Bigfooters!

Don’t just take our word for it though…

'This workshop really works with the children to explore who they are and not to worry about fitting into set stereotypes. The workshop really engaged them all to think about themselves and not allow others to determine their behaviour or have the power of being ‘themselves’ taken away from them.' (Kingfisher hall Primary, January 2019)

'What a fantastic way to encourage children to dig deep and use drama to explore this issue within their own lives. ‘Gender stereotypes’ is a conversation our class are now constantly having, so this workshop definitely furthered this learning. Fantastic, engaging and encouraging- Thank you Bigfoot for another amazing workshop!'

Why book Bigfoot Arts Education for educational workshops into your school?

By helping students to understand how they may be affected by gender expectations at school and at home, as well as how they can make simple changes to tackle gender stereotypes in their work and play, we are set to make BIG changes this year; is your school ready?

At Bigfoot we are always striving for the most creative ways to engage children in exploring important and often complex social issues. And we make no exception when it comes to gender. A child’s understanding about how harmful it can be when limitations are put on a male or female’s capacity to achieve and reach their full potential, socially, personally and professionally, due to stereotyping, is crucial. Therefore, we are pleased to be able to provide schools with a unique assembly and workshop opportunity which gives children the forum to talk, play and discover who they are and who they want to be, regardless of gender.

Bigfoot’s ‘Gender Stereotypes’ programme aims to:
• Encourage students to respect their own, as well as each other’s, differences
and similarities, irrespective of gender.
• Raise awareness about what gender stereotyping is and how the opinions we
form about each other should be based on the personal attributes we posses
rather than preconceived ideas based on gender.
• Challenge students to explore their own opinions about the restrictions that
currently exist for certain groups of people due to prejudice.
• Excite participants about the changes they can make both at home and at school
to ensure they promote a happy, healthy, safe and inclusive environment for all.

FORMAT:
• 25 MINUTE INTRODUCTORY ASSEMBLY
• 5 X 1 HOUR WORKSHOPS
COST: £350 plus VAT
