One Day is a forward-thinking creative education company, connecting children and learning with creativity and imagination. From 900 to 1897AD, Benin in West Africa prospered. Its inhabitants founded a thriving empire, led by powerful rulers who lived in amazing palaces. This interactive Kingdom of Benin workshop for KS2 takes pupils deep into this unique kingdom to explore the Edo people's rituals and way of life. Using drama and role play, we'll explore how they flourished as a trading nation, meeting their terrifying gods along the way!

What activities are available during this school workshop?
In this Kingdom of Benin workshop, your class will have the opportunity to express ideas and feelings through voice, movement, role play and drama. In addition, they will:

Kingdom of Benin
Pupils will explore the timeline of the ancient Kingdom of Benin, the people who lived there and their roles within the civilisation. They'll discover their culture, gods and the incredible achievements made.

>What size groups do we cater for?
We can deliver workshops to up to 4 classes in a school day, depending on the type of workshop and age group of the classes involved. Each session caters for a maximum of 35 children.
Groups with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND)
Absolutely! Drama is a wonderfully inclusive way for children with SEN to access learning. Please let us know of any specific needs or requirements before your day and we can adapt our sessions to fit.
