St. George's House Christian Outdoor Centre
School Trips @ St Georges House
St. George's House is a Christian Outdoor Activity Centre with a warm welcome to all. Our emphasis is on getting to know the children as individuals. We can offer you an action packed activity week where you have a say in what the programme is right from the start. With activity options run by our own staff team from Surfing, Rock Climbing, Kayaking, Mountain Biking, Coasteering, Canoeing, Ringo inflatable speedboat rides, Orienteering, Initiative days and Coastal walks all done offsite in the local area - we have a lot to choose from! You can rest assured that you are in safe and experienced hands. We can also offer more relaxing options like Archery and Fencing. If you are keen to explore the local beaches for caves and crabs then why not come rockpooling with us or even pop into the woods. With Braunton Burrows UNESCO Biosphere only 10mins away we are also a great base for Field studies and our staff can lead up to A-level.
Our staff run a short evening slot towards the end of your stay where we share what being a Christian means to us. Everyone of all faiths or none are welcome.
A school trip away has to be catered well - with home cooked food fresh each day and a tasty packed lunch made individually by the children, you'll be coming back for seconds!
Why book St Georges House for Residential School Trips and Educational Visits?
The outdoor education part of the curriculum is best achieved in an environment that nurtures, challenges and encourages each child's participation. With the stunning beaches, cliffs, harbours and sand dunes of North Devon and a caring experienced staff team - you are in the right place.
For schools keen to make the most of the countryside for educational purposes we can incorporate Rocky shores, Woodlands, Sand dunes or Moorland into a week here. Emphasis can be on a particular learning outcome or as a gentle introduction for those trying something new. Maps, compasses, identification sheets, bug hunts and even skimming stones can all be used to have fun whilst learning.
For A-level groups keen to explore the Ecology module of the syllabus please do get in touch for further information.
