Historic Workshops
Leigh is a historian and has an expert-level knowledge of World War Two and he has developed and delivers this day at a perfect level for the children. Whether KS1 or KS2, Leigh adapts the day to suit and teachers are never left feeling disappointed. The activities throughout the day are very special and leave the children with a far better understanding of WW2 than they had previously. They also remember this day forever more. Leigh often gets Year 6's coming up to him saying that they remember the day from when they were in Year 3 or 4 and it is still their best ever day at school...ever!

World War Click to read full text The day always starts with the sounding of real air raid siren from WW2! You won't find many other workshop providers with one of these...as, well, they are worth over £400! This is far better than a simple sound recording as you can imagine and the impact is usually felt by other year groups as they hear the eerie sound around school!
After this, an informative presentation about Air Raid Wardens which has been delivered countless times, ensuring that it is now perfected and is full of really interesting content and even some funny real-life stories and jokes!
Activities throughout the day are awe-inspiring. Artefacts Investigation, First Aid Activity and ARP Activity have been designed with fun, engagement, accuracy and living-history in mind. The result, is that each and every one of these sessions is thoroughly enjoyed by the children.
The day always ends with the Final Review. Things take a very serious tone as the facts and figures of the casualties of WW2 are delivered to the children in a hugely impactful, but sensitive way. Usually, everyone in the room is in shock, even the teachers.
Historic Workshops travel to schools nationwide, to provide highly-engaging, hands-on learning that is second to none. We pride ourselves in providing a professional service that aims to deliver each workshop to as many children as possible (unlike some other workshop providers, we also provide teacher-led sessions for the children to continue their hands-on learning whilst we are delivering a session).
Most schools we visit re-book us for the following year, or for other workshops that we provide. Since our beginning in 2016, we have seen a huge rise in popularity year on year, which is a true testament to the quality and value of the workshops. In Autumn and Spring 2017-18 and Autumn 2018-19, we were fully-booked 5 days a week! It is essential that you book as early as possible to avoid missing out!
