Our Learning Team is one of the largest museum learning departments in the country and provides a varied experience to approximately 70,000 learners in pre-booked school groups every year.
Whether you are looking for an opportunity to help deliver the National Curriculum, a day to celebrate the end of term, or a visit with an 'out of school' group, we will inspire and engage your learners. We offer a wide range of workshops and activities that can help any age or ability get the most out of their visit, all FREE.
KS1: History, English and Science. We offer: Off to the Seaside, Clickety Clack or Quick! The Queen is Coming.
KS2: Science-Forces and Motion, Newton's Laws, History - Victorians, World War II. We offer: From Rocket to Bullet, Bridge Building, World War II Evacuation or Victorian Railways.
KS3: Science, Energy, Electricity and Forces. We offer: Energy Show and Bridge Building.
The Museum has trained members of staff able to provide first-aid treatment.
Wheelchairs are available free of charge at both entrance and we have wheelchair accessible toilets
