Animals VR Workshop

PrimeVR

School Workshop

trip icon Our workshops are a great way of bringing the curriculum to life without having the hassle of organising a school trip!

During the Animals workshop, your pupils will have the chance to see:

- A polar bear and Arctic fox in the Arctic

- Gentoo penguins in Antarctica

- Sperm whales and sea turtles in the Indian Ocean

- Tarantulas and sloths in the rainforest

- Giraffes, elephants and lions in Tanzania

During this workshop, your pupils will learn all about the different classifications of animals as well as being taught some amazing facts about each animal by our educators. It’s a great way of introducing your pupils to different habitats around the world!

Following on from this workshop, your pupils will be able to produce an amazing piece of creative writing!

British Science Week 2026

Our Animals VR workshop brings pupils face-to-face with incredible wildlife in habitats such as the polar regions, the rainforest, the Serengeti, the jungle and underwater worlds. Immersed in these environments, pupils can explore how animals have adapted to survive – from penguins keeping warm in the freezing cold, to rainforest creatures blending into the canopy, to lions hunting across the savannah. Linking directly to the British Science Week 2026 theme “Curiosity – what is your question?”, this experience encourages pupils to think like scientists: Why does this animal live here? How does it survive? What would happen if the environment changed? By sparking curiosity and inspiring thoughtful questions, our VR day helps children develop a deeper understanding of biodiversity and the importance of adaptation.

Creative writing

At PrimeVR, we understand how difficult it can be to inspire children with their writing. We aim to create excitement by virtually transporting pupils around the world to see a range of different animals! Not only will we provide your class with exciting facts about each of the animals and their habitats but we'll also provide them with an experience to ignite their imagination. Give VR a go and see how it helps with creative writing!

PrimeVR can bring your topic to life by transporting your class around the world to see a wide range of animals and habitats. Using virtual reality headsets, we'll take your class to Antarctica to see some penguins, the Amazon Rainforest to see a tarantula, the African savannah to see some lions, the Indian Ocean to see some sperm whales and many more. This workshop is a great way of bringing your topic to life!

Map and atlas Rainforest Environment Polar Regions Climate zones and biomes Continents Weather Oceans

With our Animals workshop, your class will be transported around the world, where they'll visit different biomes and habitats, from the Amazon Rainforest in South America, to the Serengeti in Tanzania and even the Pacific Ocean. This will provide an excellent opportunity for your class to learn about how different animals adapt to survive in their habitats, based on the different climates, predators and ecosystems.

What size groups do we cater for?

We can deliver up to six workshops throughout the school day with a maximum of 32 pupils in each workshop.

We bring in 16 headsets and pupils will share one between two during workshops.

We recommend workshops lasting approximately 30-45 minutes.

Access for visitors with disabilities

Please get in touch if you have any specific questions regarding accessing our VR headsets.

Visitors with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Yes. Weve worked with a number of SEN schools and the response/feedback to VR has been fantastic. We have visited a number of SEN schools across the country, from KS2 in primary to KS3 and KS4 in secondary schools. We have a range of workshops that can be adapted to suit your students needs.
