Our workshops are a great way of bringing the curriculum to life without having the hassle of organising a school trip!
During the Mountains workshop, your children will visit:
- The summit and base camp of Mount Everest
- Mount Kilimanjaro
- The Matterhorn
- Mount Fuji
- The Matterhorn
Following on from this workshop, your pupils can write a diary entry from the perspective of someone who managed to scale and reach the summit of Mount Everest. Our literacy bundles include lesson plans, example texts and LKS2 and UKS2 writing checklists.
Curriculum topics available: Creative writing.
At PrimeVR, we understand how difficult it can be to inspire children with their writing. We aim to create excitement by virtually transporting pupils to various famous mountains around the world! Not only will we provide your class with exciting facts about these mountains but we'll also provide them with an experience to ignite their imagination. Give VR a go and see how it helps with creative writing!
Following on from our workshop, you can download our literacy lesson pack, which encourages children to write a diary entry as if they've climbed up Mount Everest. Each lesson pack includes an instruction sheet, model text and writing checklist (relevant to LKS2 or UKS2).
Curriculum topics available: Mountains.
PrimeVR can bring your geography topic to life by transporting your pupils to different mountains around the world! Using virtual reality headsets, we'll take them to Mount Everest (where they'll hover above the Summit and also see what base camp is like), K2, the Matterhorn and also the famous rock face in Yosemite National Park, El Capitan!
We cover the following topics using VR:
Rainforests, Space, Egyptians, Mayans, Volcanoes, Wonders of the World, Under the Sea, WW1, Polar Regions, Digestive System, Romans, Stone Age, Mountains, Americas, The Tudors, Vikings, Circulatory System, Africa, Animals, India & Beyond, Journey Across China, The Respiratory System and Around the World.
In line with government guidance, we can deliver a maximum of six workshops throughout the school day with a maximum of 15 pupils in each workshop.
We bring in 16 headsets and each pupil will have their own during the workshop. Each headset will be cleaned thoroughly with anti-bacterial wipes in between each use.
We recommend workshops lasting a maximum of 30 minutes.
Yes. We've worked with a number of SEN schools and the response/feedback to VR has been fantastic.
"The workshops were great, especially the fact that you could tailor it to the topic you were studying. All were delivered smoothly and included
our many SEND children who loved it. One quote from a boy who had the mountain workshop was 'I have no words, it was unbelievably amazing. I loved it!' It was easy to communicate beforehand and the workshop was good value."
"Thanks for an amazing day for our Ks2 children! They were all so engaged in the learning and Stuart was great with them! The session was well paced and they used geographical knowledge to locate places they were visiting through the VR headset on the world maps. It was an excellent experience to engage them into their new geography topics. Feedback from the children was very positive and I would highly recommend the workshops we had- volcanoes, mountains, rainforest and polar regions. The booking process and communication by email was easy and Stuart was very professional and helpful. I also like that there are lesson plans to support the session afterwards. A huge thanks for the Prime VR experience!"
