trip icon The Adur centre offers a safe and comfortable environment for children and young adults to learn outdoors and develop new skills while having fun. Some of our key learning objectives include:

• To create individual and team identity and self-worth

• To engage with the natural environment

• To think outside of normal parameters

• To operate safely in the outdoor environment

• To create group cohesion and identity

• To work towards shared goals and approach new challenges with a positive attitude

What activities are available during educational visits?

There are plenty of activities available onsite but we also like to make the most of the surrounding area and plan activities on the River Adur, in the South Downs National Park and on the local beaches.

Adur Centre programmes are designed to give students an insight into the joys of operating and learning in the outdoor environment, whilst developing skills for life such as decision-making, resourcefulness, planning, teamwork and thinking outside of the classroom. Each session has been designed to build on the previous as well as promote self-worth and confidence in a unique and beautiful environment.

The Adur Centre offers a variety of Bushcraft experiences, we use these experinces to develop team cohesion and a sense of achievement.Bushcraft sessions can be gentle and informative or more arduous and extravagant. As an example we can cover:

The South Downs National Park is a fantastic environment for watersports either on the Adur river or in the sea. There is an abundance of options for paddlesports at the Adur Centre. From kayaking and canoeing to stand up paddleboards and sea kayaking.

There is an abundance of natural habitats that can be found by the River Adur, estuary and near by costal beach. We aim to support student in leaning about the local wildlife, habitats and biodiversity.

At the Adur centre we are passionate about the environment and respecting our beautiful surroundings. We are lucky to be able to run a building that is not only solar powered but also ground heat source operated. We encourage our students to take part in recycling, sustainable living and conservation activities.


What size groups do we cater for?

We offer residential trips for a minimum of 20 pupils to a maximum of 125 pupils

On-site classroom facilities?

There are large indoor facilities with a TV available for presentations.
