School Trip Coach Hire

Transport and Travel Options

Do you need to organise transport for your school trip? The coach providers listed on this page are experts in school group travel and each have years of experience in helping to organise transport from school to venue and back again. If you are only taking a small group of students and you have your own minibus, you may not need assistance with getting to your school trip venue. Larger groups almost certainly need to think about coach hire.

School Coach Hire

While coach sizes vary, the standard coach has around 50 seats, depending upon whether or not it is equipped with a toilet - worth having if your journey is more than 30 minutes from your school. Most coach hire companies will set their fees based upon a standard class size of 35. So as long as you are filling most of the coach, you won't be paying for the empty seats. All these coach companies have strict safety procedures, comply with current safety specifications, and can provide you with the risk assessments and paperwork you need for your school trip proposal.

All the companies below can provide a no obligation quote. Make sure to reference PlanMySchoolTrip in your correspondence!

Our Safety Standards

The Kings Ferry has a strong commitment to safety and the environment, and has invested heavily in training to ensure that the whole team fully understand and buy into the policies and procedures that have been adopted. Our “Driving out Harm” scheme, which is part of a nationwide program, provides safety training for drivers, for engineers and for staff on our sites.

Our entire fleet is fitted with alcolock units. This system requires a driver to blow a clear sample of breath into an analyser machine in order to start the vehicle. We have a “zero tolerance” alcohol and drug policy.

Each vehicle undergoes rigorous and regular safety inspections, including a “first use” inspection every morning before departure. To further enhance the safety of our coaches all our vehicles are fitted with CCTV and tracking devices making sure no stone is unturned. All our drivers are trained in the technique of defensive driving. Risk assessments are prepared and reviewed throughout our business for all aspects of our work and comprehensive safe working practices devised and communicated throughout the team.
