The large geographical region of the West Midlands has a varied geographical landscape, and a rich history that can be found throughout the numerous counties, and a great many towns and cities the comprise the region. So what types of West Midlands school trips are available?

The region was the birth place of artists, painters and inventors and of course the Industrial Revolution. There are some fabulous museums dedicated to teaching school children about various aspects of industrial growth. The Ironbridge Gorge museums are a must, whether you are able to take a day trip or a multi-day residential. And you may combine the experience with a visit to nearby Roman Wroxeter with its exceptional Roman ruins.

Study wildlife or biology at places like the RSPB, Field Studies Council, or the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Study citizenship at Shrewsbury historic prison, English at Stratford, or Art and Design at 'the MAD museum'. A West Midlands school trip can take in Science Centres, Design & Technology, English or Maths, the school visit venues listed below are sure to provide some real inspiration.
