“We had a fantastic time in Stratford; everything running smoothly thanks to your organisation... The pupils enjoyed all of the activities, especially the RSC drama workshop which was fantastic. The leader was understanding of all our pupils’ needs, tailoring activities to suit their abilities”.
The birthplace of William Shakespeare, Stratford-upon-Avon conjures up images of a bygone age. Set on the River Avon and surrounded by beautiful countryside, the town itself is a very attractive and atmospheric place to explore. Indeed, this is the perfect location for pupils and teachers of English Literature and Drama wanting to discover more about the nation's favourite bard.
As the home of the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) there is a rich range of activities on offer including behind the scenes tours of the theatre and full or half-day drama workshops tailored to your group’s requirements. Tickets to one of the Company’s acclaimed productions in the Main House or Swan Theatre are a must to introduce your students to Shakespearian theatre of the very highest international quality.
Naturally, Shakespeare’s birthplace, in addition to other Shakespeare houses such as Anne Hathaway’s cottage, offer interesting educational visits and help to put Shakespeare, his life and work into historical context. Equally, why not include a visit to Tudor World and/or nearby Warwick Castle to complement the Shakespeare portion of your itinerary?
Inclusive of transport to and from school, we can arrange day trips or a residential stay, with accommodation in the nearby youth hostel or a local hotel. Contact us today to see how we can help you provide a memorable school trip to Stratford-upon-Avon.
